Morning...3/1/12

Well, we have made it a full 24 hours and now that I am actually awake I can tell you a little more about these darling furbabies.

Their back story...

Max and Spock are from Virginia. They were living there with a happy couple and the couples children. Unfortunately this was not to last. The youngest child, now a year old, ended up with allergies to the dogs. For the sake of their child they surrendered their beloved pets.

They were surrendered to Westie Rescue Southeast. They were picked up in/near Knoxville, TN and brought here to Nashville on a Saturday. They came to our home, their new foster home, on Tuesday night. They are looking for a furever home, but they must stay together. They have been together since Max joined the family four years ago.

Like I said they arrived Tuesday night and things went well. Spock had an accident a few minutes into the house but hey it was all new so we forgave him. Everyone settled in and we all spent the rest of the evening watching TV (big surprise around here). We went out; everyone did their business, and back in to go to bed we came. They sleep together in a very large crate and they have no trouble climbing right in for the night. They went to bed and I went back to finish a show. After the show I came to load the dishwasher. Both dogs were asleep and never budged the entire time I was loading the dishwasher, nor when I ran the garbage disposal. They had obviously had a rough day.

Next morning, Wednesday, I was up about 5:30 AM and both dogs were waiting patiently at the door of the crate. I put on their leashes and out we went. Both were good boys and did their business and in we came. I put out there food and some clean water. It was so cute Max let Spock eat first. When Spock was finished Max went over and started eating, Spock was vaccuming the Kitchen floor, which he likes to do, and before I knew it the little booger had done a #2 on the floor, obviously he didn't get it all out earlier. I figured it was just part of the process of coming to a new house. I immediately took him outside and he finished.

We came back in Spock decided it was time for a nap, and Max wander around, he likes to do laps around the table and follow me everywhere. The rest of the morning was pretty much the same ole same ole in getting ready for work. I went in to get a shower, shut the bedroom door (that is a dog free zone), and in to the bathroom I went. I passed Gary on the way and I was no more in the shower before I hear him say something...it seems both dogs had gotten into the bedroom. Silly dogs. Finished getting ready and took the dogs out one more time before leaving for work. I set up the gate so they are regulated to the kitchen, dining room, and pantry while we are at work.

I came home at lunch to take them out and everyone was very good. No accidents all morning. Yay!!! I gave Spock a bath in the sink because he has a bit of a yeast issue and was stinky. Then it was back to work. I left the TV on Animal Planet for them.

When Gary came home he brought Alicia with him and she and her boyfriend took the dogs out. When I got home everyone was happy to see me. The rest of the evening went about like any other night. Alicia and her boyfriend walked the boys in the evening. I discovered Max like to attack the vaccum when it is running. I have a video and will post it if I can get it off of someones iPod. Then Gary and Alicia had Max all riled up. It was so funny. I have videos of Max when Alicia was playing with him. I missed the best part when he was chancing his little nub of a tail...too funny.

The last...or hopefully last accident we found was last night in our bedroom. Obviously when they got in the bedroom yesterday morning Spock decided to leave a present. For the most part they are housebroke and very sweet.

I will post more as time allows and as I think of things to say. If you have questions feel free to ask.
